Top 10 Ways To Make This The Best School Year Ever
September 20 2016
It’s that time of the year again! The first day of school has already come and gone and you’re finally getting back into the swing of things. You’ve learned the names of all your classmates, you’ve gotten used to getting up early (or maybe you’re still working on it, like me), and you have come to terms with the fact that summer is finally over.
Yup, that’s right! As you sit in your math class taking notes, you realize that the school year has truly begun!
But now you start to worry. You’ve got big plans for this school year: acing your math class, joining the basketball team, and learning how to play the ukulele. You want this school year to be fantastic, but you’re not sure how you’re going to make it happen. Well, there’s no need to stress, as your fellow students are right behind you! Here are the Top 10 Ways To Make This The Best School Year Ever (all tested and approved by yours truly of course):
1.Realize Your Goals.
Before you go rushing into the school year, take a couple of minutes to step back and realize your goals. Make sure you know the things you want to do this year, and have a clear vision for what you want this school year to look like. Remember, the first step to doing great things, is realizing what you want to do!
2. Plan Ahead.
Now that you know what you want to get out of this school year, plan ahead! Use your vision to create SMART Goals and apply them to your daily life (I HIGHLY recommend the myBlueprint Goal Setting Tool for this task). Know what you’re going to do to help you achieve your goals, and plan it out ahead of time. For example, if your goal is to learn how to play the ukulele, then make sure to plan for an hour of practice every week.
3. Hit The Ground Running!
Start working on your goals as early as possible. If you build a wave of momentum early on, then you can ride all the way to Success City!
4. Get Organized!
I can’t advocate for this enough! Whether it’s a paper agenda, a calendar app on your phone, or sticky notes on your locker, find a way to get organized! The quicker you get organized, the quicker you’ll be able to complete assignments, keep a track of deadlines, and continue to be the awesome person that you know you are.
5. Have A Routine
Research shows us that having a routine greatly increases your productivity. So, it’s about time you got your own! Just like with getting organized, everyone’s routine will look a little different. Just make sure that yours is aligned with your priorities (i.e. homework before TV). 6. Make Great Relationships.
Success is a group effort, so make sure to build a good relationship with everyone around you. Treat teachers with respect, help your friends out, and spend time with your family. Remember, if you ever fall down, it’s going to be these people that will help you get back up.
7. Get Involved!
This is something that you hear teachers saying all the time, and for good reason too! Getting involved is a great way to relax, make new friends, or learn a new hobby (plus, extracurricular activities look great on a resume or application). So get out there and join a new club, try out for a new sport, or start volunteering!
8. Stay Healthy.
You can’t make this the best school year ever if you’re always sick. So make sure you eat healthy, get plenty of exercise, and take care of your body.
9. Work Hard!
You can have the most amazing plans, but they’ll never go through if you don’t put in the effort. While you don’t have to spend every waking moment working, try to give your best effort in everything you do.
10. Have Fun!
It’s hard work being a super student, so make sure to step back and take a break every once in a while. Whether it’s playing video games, exercising, or playing a sport, find that one hobby that helps you unwind, and go back to it in times of stress.
So there you have it! Those are my Top 10 Ways To Make This The Best School Year Ever. You can breathe now. As long as you follow these tips, you’ll do great!
So go ahead and sharpen your pencils, pack your lunch, and get ready for the best school year ever!
